Next Up #30

So, I’ve been in Iowa for a couple weeks visiting family. I needed to see my Grandma Adams and D & D needed an escort on the plane. I started my 14 days of chemo while there and did the best I could with energy levels and feet problems.

I was able to see Grandma a few times. You see, my dad, her son past away 17 years ago. He had esophageal cancer with bone mets. When Grandma found out I was sick again with bone mets all she could remember was how much pain my dad was in and thought I was going through that. I needed to show her I’m fine. She just held onto me and cried and I told her I was going to be ok… in time but ok.

I mostly saw family and treatened my nephews with their life daily. Took my chemo and napped a lot. Soaked my feet nightly and ate Mom’s tomatoes from her garden.

All in all it was a good time to get away and fortunately I didn’t have a ton of walking to do. By the end of the 2 weeks and my chemo, my feet were sensitive and tender but at least I didn’t have any skin break down. I was/ am really tired.

I started my 6th chemo cycle today and I see The Blood Guy on Friday before my bone treatment. He and I have a lot to talk about. I’ll let you know what happens.
