Narcotic pain medication is amazing! My anesthesiologist for this quicky port placement saw how much I was hurting and gave me some Demerol. AAAAAaaaahhhhAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I felt great! Like I never had a rib removed! I even felt awesome when I got home! It was so nice to putz around my house and not hurt! Do you know how long it’s been since I have been able to do that? Several months. I miss doing the little things I enjoy so much. 04/04 was a good day 🙂
This is a picture of my port from 2 years ago. My new port was placed in the same location and will look very similar once the swelling goes down. Saturday morning 04/05 I hurt a lot and all over. I mean I had a rib removed and then a port placed 10 days apart. Needless to say I was really sore. Therefore, I have slept most of the weekend.
Staging scans tomorrow, a head to toe PET/CT and then I see The Blood Guy on Wednesday 04/09.
Ribs for Sunday Family Dinner at The Hunsbergers! Love you my Jody and our evening wine walk! My favorite was stumbling up and down the driveway calling for the pups which the coyotes heard as mating calls! Who says you can’t drink wine while taking narcotic pain medication, right? LOLOL 🙂

You are a true warrior! Thank you for sharing your story, your life. Wishing you a great day! Keep smiling Shelby Adams!
You are an amazing young woman!! You brought me frowns, smiles, laughter and tears in the telling of your story. You hang in there Shelby, I know that is easy to say miles away but you give hope to anyone & everyone that has had or will have surgery – not just cancer but anything. You are a Rock Star & a beautiful one!!!
Oh, please say “hi” to your mom for me, she’s exactly where she needs to be.
